Choose a lightweight tag and collar. Your cat is less likely to fight wearing a collar if it feels comfortable.
Fit the collar properly. Just one finger should be able to fit between your cat's neck and the collar.
Keep your cat tagged. Avoid taking your cat's collar and tag off, even for baths. It's too easy to forget to put it back on.
Consider putting your pet sitter's name and/or phone number on the ID tag. Their office phone may be easier to reach than your home phone number. Just be sure to let your pet sitter know she may be contacted!
